OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide the best possible Dermatologic care to all of our patients, including those living with severe skin disease. By providing affordable and predictable pricing, we hope to extend this care to as many Oklahomans as possible.

Chronic skin diseases including psoriasis, eczema, and many other conditions have been repeatedly proven to demonstrate emotional distress including insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Patients with untreated severe psoriasis have had changes in quality of life and psychological well being comparable to breast cancer, prostate cancer, coronary artery disease, heart failure and diabetes when studied. Conditions affecting the genital area have placed insurmountable stresses on marriages while those affecting the palms and soles decrease work productivity and in extreme cases make certain occupations impossible. The effect of skin disease on patient lives is real and reproducible in cultures and countries throughout the world.

Dr. Prater has over a decade of experience in the medical management of many different skin diseases including psoriasis, eczema, lichen sclerosus, lupus, dermatomyositis, morphea, hidradenitis suppurativa, and hair loss as well as more common skin conditions including acne, warts and skin cancer. At Healthy Skin Dermatology of Oklahoma we will strive to provide you with an understanding of your condition and the most up to date treatment options available. We will work with you to formulate the best treatment plan for your condition that is specially tailored to your needs and concerns.

If you are interested in the impact of stress, diet, and exercise on your skin condition, our unique model is well suited to help you explore the impact of these factors on your skin disease and incorporate these important factors into your treatment plan when possible. We don't have all of the answers, but we are interested and willing to partner with patients to improve their skin health and overall well being in all ways possible.
